About 35 participants attended the Islamic Seminar hosted by the Iligan Bae Rawatun Peace Circle headed by ACG member Celia M. Rajah on May 30, 2010 at Madrasha Upper Hinaplanon, Iligan City.   The topic was “Ten (Attitudes of a Woman That Can Lead her to Success on Earth and in the Hereafter.”

Ten “Jewels of Light” were given awards as “Exemplary Mothers” at the 42nd anniversary celebration of Davao del Norte province in southern Mindanao. The search for the “women of spirit, substance and style” from Davao del Norte’s eight municipalities and three cities was organized by the Provincial Council of Women and Mothers for Peace in cooperation with the Brahma Kumaris Meditation Center of Davao City.

Noting the pervasive feeling of powerlessness over massive corruption and dishonesty in government and other sectors, MCW has initiated an educational project called, “Filipinos Who Tell the Truth”. It enables participants to reflect on their own behavior and encourages them to honor models of honesty and truth in their midst. The project uses visual arts teaching to promote these values to public and private elementary school teachers and their pupils (grades four to six.) At the end of each session, an exhibit of the pupils’ works is mounted. Exhibits have taken place in Iligan, Davao, Cotabato and Tagum.
