“For a change, during this election, let us not ask favors from our candidates. Let us not abuse them. Let us not make them corrupt.”  This is one of the campaign lines of “Walang Hihingi,” the electoral campaign of the Ehem Anticorruption Program spearheaded by the Society of Jesus. MCW, which is part of the Ehem network, is supporting the campaign and running it Mindanao-wide.

Ehem aims at bringing people to a renewed sensitivity to the evil of corruption and its prevalence in ordinary life. It seeks ultimately to make them more intensely aware of their own vulnerability to corruption, and their own often unwitting practice of corruption in daily life.

“Walang Hihingi’ urges voters to stop solicitations from candidates to dissuade them from stealing from the public coffers once elected. “Huwag tayong manghuthot sa mga kandidato updang di mangurakot ang mananalo” is another campaign line.
