Presidential candidates Secretary Gilbert Teodoro, Brother Eddie Villanueva  JC De Los Reyes and independent  Nicanor Perlas showed up at the “Paminaw sa Mindanaw (Listen to Mindanao)” forum held on April 16 at the Holy Cross College of Davao City. “Walang Hihingi” campaign

Walang Hihingi!

“For a change, during this election, let us not ask favors from our candidates. Let us not abuse them. Let us not make them corrupt.”  This is one of the campaign lines of “Walang Hihingi,” the electoral campaign of the Ehem Anticorruption Program spearheaded by the Society of Jesus. MCW, which is part of the Ehem network, is supporting the campaign and running it Mindanao-wide.

“Many Colors, Many Circles, One Mindanao”

“Many Colors, Many Circles, One Mindanao” was this year’s theme of the Kamindanawan 2010 conference hosted by the Mindanao Commission on Women on 4-5 February 2010. The hall, inside the Waterfront Insular Hotel in Davao City, was festooned with ribbons of different colors with the women all showing up in their best Filipiniana or ethnic attire during the opening ceremony. It was an opportunity to meet, to listen, to discuss – finally an opportunity to think about an updated Mindanao agenda from a women’s perspective. (more…)
